Dune 2 – V4, 2000
The hubless wheel, rigid frame, up down swivel handlebar, all enclosed bike of 87, the Dune, has been evolved into a new simplified conception, the Dune 2.
With an attempt to do away entirely with moving parts the chassis is born a motorcycle with engine mounted twin arms holding the two wheels with steering, suspension drive and brakes all incorporated within the wheel rims.
The engine for this venture is a V4 symmetrically titled forward to bring it closest to the front wheel. The lifted crankshaft allows for a vertically mounted gearbox leaving the rear completely empty. The space between the V is the ramair fed airbox.
The bodywork is contoured though the engine is exposed. The four 4 into one exhaust under the seat is partially displayed and the pillion seat cover can be attached under the exhaust drum when not in use. The lights and mirror are add on features.

FRYSAMOTE, 2001

There are people with talent and passion like you and there are others with means to execute. Your interpretation of the 999 is nice, though our approach has been of evolution as has been the case in the past at Ducati. You should keep up your good work and these wooden models. They are history as far as we know them here.

‘Front and Rear ‘Y’ Swing Arms Mounted on Testastretta Engine’

Pivoted on the torsion spring situated at the valley of the ‘V’ are the two arms holding the mono shocks from front and rear single sided ‘Y’ shaped arms. These two arms are directly pivoted on the crankcase.

All body parts are further hung on the engine making the frame redundant and therefore absent. The exaggerated anatomy inspired parts makes up for the minimal body.

Namaskara
‘Namaskara’. The Indian Supercar.

The design attempt is to address and find unique ‘world’s first’ solutions to the following Indian concerns and conceptualize a practical car possible within two years time frame.
Completely hand built and with last generation M3 engines sourced from BMW, thus requiring no manufacturing infrastructure, car should retail for under Rs 50 lacs, the cost of entry-level sports car in India.
Two M’3 sixes are coupled and placed transversely on either side of the rear wheel axis, space between the two is occupied by transmission on top and final drive below making it the most compact direct and balanced 12 cylinder layout with two counter rotating crankshafts. With the flexibility of running only one engine at a time everyday economy running figures of 7 to 8km to a litre are achievable. The space liberated with Twin parallel 12 layout is then occupied by two additional seats placed diagonally making possible options for either a) two extra passengers, or b) luggage space or c) space for folded second roof.
Zero overhangs over wheels and arched belly allow much higher angle of approach & ground clearance. The air scoop provided at the front wheel axis while not compromising on ground effect. The front and rear sections and also the side-projected skirt are made soft in polyurethane derivative and are impact resilient in an otherwise hand made carbon fibre tub and panels.

The doors slide upwards to clear maximum opening without increasing the car’s footprint, forming the gesture of folded hands as in Indian greeting, marking an ‘announced arrival’. The car’s name and logo are thus derived. ‘Namaskara’
The design attempts to imbibe the purposefulness of super clean F1 cars of sixties, the aggression of American muscle cars, the spirit of British Roadsters, the streamlining of the LeMans cars and the sensuality of the exotic Gandini creations all rolled into a sublime minimalistic conception.

Thrust vertical V twin naked bike
THRUST VERTICAL V TWIN NAKED BIKE 1998

Over History we have been behind new ideas and concepts like this V8, under the engine suspension over there and a host of others. I have been here the longest and have seen the company go through some very good and bad times. Once it stabilizes again I suggest you make a presentation of your works and concepts. I am hopeful you’ll get a commission from us.

The need to push CG to the front most, a twin that gives equal justice to both cylinders and yet dose not foul with either the rider’s legs or the road and possesses an essential pure bike character culminated in this resolution christened. Thrust to celebrate the ‘Thrust’ bearing, the main component of the engine and its character.

The suspension is a two-grade unit working in phase tandem mounted directly on to the engine and so are other components. The ram air exhausts ducts are exposed so are the tanks, the light and the footrest, which are also, mounted directly on the fully stressed block in the absence of any frame.

Waqar
Waqar – 4 in line real city car
Waqar is an attempt in space management, with the 4 in line engine mounted behind the rear seats the space between the front wheels is used for the leg room in a single box design. The scoop for the radiator on the sides has windows at the kid’s eye level.
Other options in the same schema include a mid engine sports car and a convertible.

ICCIPUZZI

THE ICCIPUZZI w12, 2000

They are all workable ideas, besides having problems of efficiently lubricating the chambers etc. the concepts are solvable & I could develop them for you but It’ll still be expensive.

Alternatively, you could get someone like Valentino (Rossi) to endorse your ideas, companies will bend head over heels to process those.

- Ex Chief-Ferrari Formula One Mouro Forghiesi in Modena, Oct 2000

The Iccipuzzi 2000 is the next step in evolution over the 1989 Iccipuzzi, of a mid engine super car. The W12 concept is revised and it now has 2 banks of 90 degree V6 placed along

side each other. It still has 2 counter rotating synchromeshed crankshafts. The gearbox is mounted amidships. The drive passes back through the gap between the 2 vees to the differential. Making it the shortest 12 cylinders engine, which is also mounted very low.

The spoilers on the front, roof and rear blend with the body contours and project up with speed. The scoop for the radiator is cut into the side panel and induction inlets on the side of the rear fins. The doors are parallelogram lift, the first of its kind on a car using minimum side space and minimum height too.

The four wheels occupy the farthest corners. The W configuration along with no overhangs makes it a very short super car. The attempt is yet to have flowing contours within a short span.

IRAREI
THE IRERAI , 1997
‘Inverse fuel tank exhaust, swingarm suspension mounted on engine’

“I compliment Mr. Matharoo on his imaginative ideas. Though some appear to have been born more from a desire to be different than for practicality of purpose, examples like the ‘Irerai’ (Integrated radiator exhaust ram air induction) are a different matter. I believe this design deserves to be taken further. It’s a pity Bimota aren’t in business any more, otherwise I’d suggest he contact them to see if they’d like to put it into metal!”

Alan Cathcart ‘Auto Car’ magazine September 2001.

The Irerai (Integrated ram air, radiator, exhaust induction) super bike is a simple statement of combined elements of frame less body, swing arm suspension on both ends and heated ram air induction.

The engine chosen is a forward tilt 4 in line unit with a geared camshaft on one side. The 4 in to 2 exhaust runs through a sealed air tube (read lower body fairing) into which the air is fed after passing through the low mounted radiator.

The suspension is through single sided swing arm on both ends with the shock absorbers mounted on the side of engine (front) and top of engine (rear). The steering is collapsible in the direction of vehicle and rigid in other with 2 pivot points. The lateral displacement is accommodated through eccentric bearing in the steering pivot mounted on a sub frame. Another sub frame holds the seats and exhaust in place.
